Consenso
Consenso mixes elements of reggae, folk, ska, dub and worldmusic to a wild, unique and exciting blend that is hold together by their poetic and critical lyrics. Spread over the multicultural region between the rivers Rhein and Ruhr (Germany) the six members of con>senso met at a party in Dusseldorf in November 04, played a spontaneous reggae jam which turned out to become a real concert with everybody grooving and moving. The project con>senso was born (from c..everybody agrees). The six musicians are united in the consensus of their musical language. They have been on road together to play music in the streets. But also more than 50 concerts al over Germany have brought a shown appreciation of their musique. Lyrics, mainly in German but also in English, French and Spanish meet drum, bass, keys, sometimes accordeon; a lyrical violin joins the guitar offbeat and everybody..s smiling and chanting choruses that remain in one..s ear for a long time. Songs that celebrate life in the very moment, sketch the momentary state of society and express the deep desire for the unity that was at the very beginning of creation. Consenso is able to perform either an electric or accoustic programme. (accordeon instead of keys, cajon instead of drums). Which depends of the occasion.

DUBWORKS is a 8-headed band from the space of Giessen. We have completely devoted ourselves of the Dubside of reggae in her different facets. In Dubville, our cosy studio and test space, we have polished in an exciting programme which we present for now 2 years to live on Stage. The prevailing part of our repertoire exists of own pieces and shows a whole series of different Grooves, whether Roots, Dubwise, Ska or Funky reggae Vibes. We are open for the most different influence, however, in the end, the Around & Bass-Section holds together everything and roots to us in the Roots reggae.
Our tape members dispose of long-standing experience of the stage from different projects what to itself during the sovereign stage show the volume shows. Our singer and MC Gesai puts the rousing vocal side the volume. An experienced front rocker to whom with his rap, dance sound-Vibes and his "soulfull singing" cook the pack to or to melt brings. Beside the classical Riddim-Section with guitar, piano and blowers another important component of the tape sound is our mixer: He improves with his technical finesse and tricky effects the songs and presses to them with it the flashigen stamp of the DUB.
Although it is the nicest of course if one can come live to the pleasure of the music, there is also to get the possibility admissions of the volume. After we are up already on the 1st and 2nd part of the Compilation "DUBNIGHT" together with other famous tape and producers appeared (download http://www.dubnight.de.vu), now we are also represented on the 3rd part of this popular Dub-Compilation.
Now beside these publications there is also our first LP with the title: DUB WORKS 1. comin soon

The influential German Reggae magazine „Riddim“ voted „Nitro“ „Dub Album of the month“, and compares the Band with the legendary “Dub Syndicates”.

Dubmatix
Having imprinted his name in the mind of the reggae fans across Canada & Europe with one of his first-ever releases back in 2004, the Toronto-born producer is now firmly established as one of Canada's premiere reggae/dub artists and with two chart-topping releases behind and the new "Renegade Rocker" just coming out, the future looks brighter than ever.
Music runs deep within the veins as does the various musical styles Dubmatix drops - from pure, old-school King Tubby dub to the freshest electro/steppers dub to classic conscious roots to Drum'n'Bass and more. Growing up Dubmatix was surrounded by instruments and recording equipment which provided hours of experimentation and recording from an early age. Having learned drums, bass, guitar and piano as a youth helped push the boundaries of musical taste and production later in life. Over the past years he's been in various reggae & acid jazz groups jumping from drums to bass and back in 2002/2003 firmly planted the seeds of what became the first Dubmatix release "Champion Sound Clash" which garnered rave reviews across the globe and landed a European licensing deal. Since then "Atomic Subsonic" was dropped in 2006 and "Renegade Rocker" in 2008 with various remixes, production and digital releases in between. Working with local artists such as Treson, Kulcha Ites, Raffa & Howie Smart to legendary heavy weights Sugar Minott, Michael Rose, Alton Ellis, Wayne Smith and more - Dubmatix brings a vibe that is hard to lock down but always provides solid grounding in bass-heavy grooves.
Erto
Erto a.k.a Erdal Tosun son of turkish migrants and was raised in Cologne, Germany. At the end of the 80ies he gaind his first experiences as a keyboarder in a band named Blue Variation. Considering the time they started with their musik, they were playing an uncommon mix of Hip Hop and Funk. This was the basis of ERTO`s musical creativity.
After he had met Steve Coleman & the Five Elements at the Leverkusener Jazz Festival in 1988, ERTO started playing the saxophon next to the keyboard. Due to that event he changed his view of music radically. Than he experimented with unusual mesaures and harmonies to make progressive music, uncommon and provocative, but always in a harmonical context. As much as he was interested in making music he was also interested in producing music.
At the beginning of the 90ies ERTO was co-founder of the Cologne Hip Hop band Shakkah. He produced the bands debut CD named Domplatte for the successful label Köln Massiv. Later he was responsible for several recordings among others Lipstick Records and AMM Music.
In spring 1998 ERTO was in New York to produce further music with well known musicians like Kelly Sae, John Carlson, James Genius and Harvey Morris. This provided him an insight into the „real world“ of Hip Hop music. He was so impressed by the professionalism of the musicians and rappers, that he decided to establish a studio cooporation with the pianist Jesse Milliner. Through this ERTO made several remixes for the producer Guido Craveiro, the musician Esteban Garcia and Addys. He was also the composer of some tunes for Trevor Taylor a.k.a Supa T. Can7, Blain, Don Bonn, Mavys, and the Reggea Queen Zoe.
„When the right one comes along“ was Erto's first cinema soundtrack, that he has composed for the jung director Oliver Paulus.
With Walter Dahn ERTO has produced another album, which is a mix of the originality of Electronic Music made in the 70ies and Indipendent Music. This album will be supplied in Jan. 2008 by the label Karmarouge. Now ERTO is mixing the new album of the Congolesian Hip Hop band Lopango ya bank. He is also working on the debut album of the Spanish musician Miguel Igler and on a Bollywood soundtrack for an Indish-Swiss movie, that will be shown in european and indian cinemas in June 2008.

Jahcoustix and Dubios Neighbourhood
It all started in east Africa, in Nairobi, Kenya in 1992 where Jahcoustix found the music that would give his life a clear musical direction: Reggae. Spending most of his youth days in African countries, Jahcoustix was fascinated by the African people and their positive attitude towards life thus living in severe poverty. As a sheltered teenager, he saw himself confronted with a burning interest in the african culture and its music. As a child Jahcoustix spent many years in Mexico, Liberia and New York before moving to Kenya and Egypt. In Kenya he spent his free time wandering through the downtown streets of Nairobi, where he would get his first contacts to Rastafarians and to reggae Music. Bands like Israel Vibration, Bob Marley, Burning Spear and Culture would later have a great impact on his world view. Inspired by the spiritual background of the Rasta culture Jahcoustix writes his first poems and starts playing guitar. After having spent 15 years abroad, he returns to Germany in 1998 and dedicates his music to a genre that knows neither skin colours, genres nor ideological limitations. On this new chapter Jahcoustix meets his band Dubios Neighbourhood and together they grow to become a strong unit. The debut album "Souljahstice" (2003) enriched the flourishing German Reggae scene with a modern roots Reggae Flair. Jahcoustix..s solo Debut “Colourblind” was published by Virgin Records in 2004 and raised the level of awareness beyond the local reggae Scene. In the coming 2 years Jahcoustix toured in the USA and Canada, played his first shows in Portugal, Italy and Slovenia and was invited to play at the famous Jazz festival in Montreux. The current Album "Grounded" was released in october 2006 and in 2007 Jahcoustix joined german Reggae Star “Gentleman” supporting him on his european Tour. In 2008 Jahcoustix released his new CD (an acoustic live recording which evolved from a side project) and went on tour in France, supporting Dub Incorporation and Tiken Jah Fakoly. 2009 was a great year filled with new experiences as jahcoustix went to jamaica for the first time to get a deep insight into the local scene by meeting a great number of jamaican producers and artists. In Spring he joined Gentleman on his south america and carribean tour, played in the USA and all together it was a great new exposure. With his new band "the yard vibes crew" Jahcoustix played festivals all over europe during the summer and went on an unforgettable 5 week tour throughout 7 west african countries, Israel and Jordan in october and november. Jahcoustix will be working on his new CD in the coming months and the release is planned for spring 2010. Combined with the new record jahcoustix will play a big tour next year with energetic live performances and a promising symbiosis of Roots and acoustic Reggae! It is his aim to spread his music and vibes to people all over the world.

Minds eye dub
M.E.D is the right term to describe the man (DAVID MAGRO born 1969, Paola, MALTA) that has been creative and at the same time has put a brave face since inception.
Various lineups led by David a.k.a. Mind's Eye Dub pivoted the reggae scene on the island, aiming reggae as a medium for human rights, justice and mankind.
Mind's Eye Dub had to convey his message at a time when post 1987 election fever was still running high.
Mind's Eye Dub won public and media acclaim with the 1988 'Bob Marley Tribute' concert and his standing was further enhanced by a special 10th Anniversary concert three years later named 'Tribute to Bob Marley 1981-1991 10th Anniversary'.
A crucial year for Mind's Eye Dub , his band and the local reggae scene was 1989 when the first foreign reggae band ASWAD performed on the island of Malta.
Mind's Eye Dub supported the internationally acclaimed band in the 'Give Peace a Chance' concert.
During the same year Mind's Eye Dub penned a song called 'Freedom' which placed third in a song contest held in North Korea.
In 1992 Mind's Eye Dub met the Wailers Band in a concert to remember. More than 12,000 reggae fans attended the event.
Just one year later i.e. in 1993 Mind's Eye Dub supported Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers in the 'Joy and Blues' Tour 1993. Mind's Eye Dub along with his band gave a remarkable performance in which all media reports focused on Mind's Eye Dub outstanding performance.
Owning a small but sturdy recording studio setup, Mind's Eye Dub produces his own solo material, by writing, playing and mixing music to obtain that unique Afro-Mediterranean Reggae feel.
Mind's Eye Dub produced several Signature Tunes for local Reggae radio programs. Among these were Reggae 'n' Stuff 101 MHz f.m., Reggae Line 92.7 MHz f.m. and Reggae Club 93.7 MHz f.m.. The last one conducted by the 'BADDEST' local Reggae D.J. MANWEL TABONE.
All songs of Mind's Eye Dub repertoire are written by David Magro.
Mind's Eye Dub is truly a work in progress and a perfect example of love-in-action and believes that the only way to be fully-blessed is to lay everything at the altar...

Parvez
Parvez Syed was born in Bangladesh. As a child of musical parents his interest in music was awakened in particular by the lap steel guitar of his mother. He exchanged this instrument for a classical guitar and founded his first band. Pretty soon after Parvez Syed jobbed as a studio musician. 1990 he came to Austria to finish his studies of business management at the University of Vienna. Due to his versatile musical talent Parvez Syed gained attention by the local music scene. Together with his friends from home he revived the project Rejuvenate which he had already started in Bangladesh. Rejuvenate's music fused traditional music from Bangladesh with reggae grooves. In this band Parvez Syed was active as a singer and drummer.
In the following years Parvez Syed played in Slim Young's african-reggae-band, in Cheesevibes, Jayasri, Dubblestandart, Ras & Roots, just to mention a few. One day, the absence of a suitable keyboard player for reggae music caused Parvez Syed to focus his interest in the keyboard which should then become his main instrument. Having internalized the reggae beat as a drummer and guitar player he now enriched the shows by his groovy and steady play.
2005 the well-established reggae band House of Riddim recruited Parvez Syed for playing shows with top reggae artists like Everton Blender, Fantan Mojah, Natty King, Uton Green, Elijah Prophet, Tanya Stephens, Chezidek, Mellow Mark, Ganjaman, Jahcoustics and many others. A dream became true. From this time on all the albums (Chapter II + III) and riddims released on the in-house label were created in collaboration with Parvez Syed. Not least for his warm and helpful character he has become an indispensible component of this project. Further productions released in collaboration with Parvez Syed: Gentleman, Uwe Banton, Mono & Nikitaman, Ganjaman, Marlene Johnson, Cali P., Cheesevibes, Jayasri and many more.
2007 Parvez Syed's first singles Freedom, Ma, Devil Dance, Midnight were released and then introduced in the television companies of Bangladesh and gets its regular air-play in the radiocharts. Furthermore he has done two remixes (Your Face, Cool Down feat. Marlene Johnson) which have already been released in Europe. Written in English and Bangla, the lyrics of the songs are presented in a strong and persuasive way by Parvez Syed. The main topics they are dealing with are politics, nature and the nature of people. They reflect the point of view vehemently represented by Parvez Syed which arranges the authorisation to judging as well as valuing a person by another: Traits should be recognised as those, recognising free of evaluation in the foreground stand. The characteristic of a person and his or her qualities ought to be looked at for what they are. Therefore a cognition free of values should be a must..com" target="_blank">

Silent Surface
Reggae-Fever, that raised music temperature with the deliriums of the Caribbean, they is remediable. The elixir exists of powerful blower's sequences, a careless Lead voice, groovigem bass, tugging guitar and soulful key tones. Gives with (at least) one teaspoon contagious to good mood and a salted pinch of party mood. What concerns risks and side effects, now one better asks no chemist – but just drops himself and listens. The tape which is specified on Reggae-Fever is called Silent Surface and comes from wine home. Musically they have become big in the „Muddy's of club“, one of the best blues and jazz clubs of Germany. Motto: Who plays music, that needs no nonsense. Well what applies to Silent Surface not completely because to six boys and her lady there is absent on the stage sometimes the seriousness of the life which some contemporaries – why also always – hold for necessary. Where Silent Surface appear, the seriousness of the life ducks away, the concerts spray good mood like a Grafitti-Sprüher his colour in the underpass. Since 2003 the troop plays in the today's occupation. Their common passion: People with hot Reggae-Tunes to the dancing bring. The tape connects in an especially open kind of sound and styles: Reggae, dance sound and Ska are herauszuhören, but every tone carries a manuscript. Classical Roots-Reggae-Tunes, 3-voices song, blower's sentences, this are the musical old soup of the Silent Surface productions. However, just the music fan also hits on laid-back Hip-Hop-Grooves and propelling radio sounds which from jazzigen Orgelchords dribbles round become or on intensely bass-stressed synthesizer sounds which complement the sound structure. The music of Silent Surface is one single tension field. Nobody knows what comes as the next. A scene crime film is against it a Micky mouse's film. The tape could prove their live qualities already in many clubs and at numerous festivals in the whole of Germany, but also in Italy. The stage presence the young volume is like a fist in the pit of the stomach.

After several pieces composed in various musical types, Soundalpha collaborates in studio with numerous artists today (singers, musicians), and "TEA REVELATORS" occurs on stage within the group of DUB.

The Blackstarliners
The Blakstarliners are currently on the road, making a name for themselves on the Dub Steppa circuit. They play their own material live with their energetic live UK dub Sound System. They like to share their own vision of dub with its heavy bass inspired by the brittish masters. They have a sharp sense for feeling the dancefloor, improvisation and a contagious energy ready to cause a dub pandemic. Formerly called the Revelators, the blackstarliners have been touring together for the past 3 years and have shared the stage with big names of the UK circuit, namely Zion Train , Iration Steppas , The Disciples, Bush Chemists, Vibronics or Jah Tubby's. They are also well respected within the french UK dub scene. Their vision of dub: a fully live approach (no laptop!) with a lot of energy and where reggae should always be present subliminally: Dub Is Reggae and Reggae is Dub! check out: http://www.myspace.com/theblackstarliners

The Okada Supersound
in germanys reggae scene the okada supersound is now around for 6 years and about 50 gigs a year throughout germany, austria, switzerland, italy and poland. 2002 originally formed as DON ABIs backing band (top 5 Brothers Keepers Artist, V2 records) the okada supersound is now working for different national artists between reggae, hip-hop and soul. as they started as DON ABIs personal backing band in 2005 they mainly backed top-20 Artist ZOE (www.zoeciety.de). For 2006 they continue conquering also with germany's most reggae newcomer MAXIM (www.maximmusic.net) whose record was already voted as 2005's 2nd best german reggae-artist behind 'seeed'. after reaching so many people and after getting so much positive reactions it is 2008 now time for their own record which is produced by okada keyboarder guido craveiro (who already did remixes and productions for chaka khan/de la soul, moloko, bootsy collins, ricky martin, moni love, umoya, zoe ect). as at least a guest-vocal record is now an obligation okada postponed it for the first moment - as okada's passion is the pure dub-massacre they decided to throw away all commercial bullshit and to follow their idealistic mission. even if the record shall be mainly instrumental they could not command theirself and invited their personal faves dub-dj legend BIG YOUTH and street-poet, author and tv host DR BENJAMIN ZEPHANIA to join. Aswell as the timeless voice of legend EARL 16, the punky attitude of Birmingham's RANKING ROGER (THE BEAT) or probably germany's best reggae singer EASED (SEEED). So beware of the tough-minded dub explosion which you could follow so often during their live-shows - "The Police In Dub - dubXanne (backed by okada)" OUT NOW ON ECHO BEACH. check out www.myspace.com/policeindub - http://www.myspace.com/okadaallstars - www.theokadasupersound.com
Zion Train
Zion Train are Dub/Dance pioneers and have been undisputed leaders in the genre for more than 15 years. The band are heavily involved in alternative and DIY underground culture and have been since the 90s as well as being purveyors of the finest Roots Reggae music throughout this period. They are one of the finest live dub acts in the world and promoted the practice of dynamic onstage dub mixing which they perform alongside acoustic instruments and the best live vocalists. Zion Train was founded by Perch (live dub mixing/production), in 1990 and he was later joined by Cod (melodica/production), Tench (production), Molara (voice), Hake (trumpet), and Forkbeard (trombone). Between 2001 and 2005 Dubdadda added extra live vocals and Bigga replaced Forkbeard on trombone in 2001. The live line-up has always been very flexible, varying from Perch and a vocalist for sound-system gigs, to the full lineup for larger events. From 2006 Molara concentrated on her solo projects and Zion Train live features a variety of renowned vocalists including Dubdadda alongside Earl 16 and YT. Zion Train have been one of the planet's most prolific groups, along with a mammoth recorded output and innumerable production credits, remixes and song writing collaborations they have produced magazines, CD-ROMs, Internet sites and built sound systems. Their early releases were on their own Universal Egg label, until in 1995 they signed to China Records. They released the world's first promotional dub music video for the 'Get Ready' single and caused a furore with the publicity campaign for their ‘Homegrown fantasy’ album. Back on their own Universal Egg label since 1999, they have continued to release quality dub, electronica and world dance music. Their work from the past decade and a half still sounds fresh to today's discerning ears. 2005 saw the reissue of the bands seminal and long unavailable first and second albums; 'A Passage To Indica' and 'Natural Wonders Of The World In Dub' remastered and redesigned. 2006 saw the re-release of the third album 'Siren', which was thought by many to herald the birth of the dub-dance vibe that swept the globe in the 1990s. A new album entitled 'Live As One' was released in September07.
